Taking place every Friday night from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.  literally on the sand where Las Olas Boulevard meets A1A, Friday Night Sound Waves is a 36-week live music series that features a diverse mix of Jazz, Blues, Country, Latin Fusion, Top 40, Reggae, World and Classic Rock performers.  The summer months of July and August will feature 8 more local bands, each with their own flavor of live music including Classic Rock, Pop, Caribbean, Disco, Latin, Country and more.  Use the summary below to help you decide which Friday night summons your presence on the beach and enjoy the experience with like-minded people who will be taking it all in with you.

July 7 – The Fabulons

The Fabulons present the best music from the rock era in their “Decades” tribute beginning with the 1950’s and making their way up to the80’s.  You may also hear genres ranging from Motown, 1950’s Doo-Wop & 60‘s classic rock, disco, R&B, Beach Boys, Beatles, The ‘Girl Groups’, & “Grease”.  Presented by Florida Power & Light

 

GoodnicksJuly 14  – The Goodnicks

“The Goodnicks” are a guitar driven pop, rock and country cover-band featuring melodic three & four part harmony vocals over infectious hooks. Their songwriting and musicianship has earned them the opportunity to open for such acts as John Fogerty, Gavin DeGraw, Avril Lavigne, Butch Walker & Joss Stone.

 

Othello-Molineaux QuintetJuly 21st  Othello Molineaux Quintet

Steel-Pan Drum extraordinaire, Othello Molineaux and special guest, Nicole Yarling bring a little bit of the islands to the Fort Lauderdale Beach Island for a truly spectacular-summer escape. Presented by: Southwest Airlines®

 

July 28 – Shauna Sweeney

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Shauna Sweeney, sets the tone for this mid-summer night with clever original songs and a unique blend of pop, alt-rock, folk and world music. Presented by Las Olas Association.

 

August 4 – Celebration

Enjoy a night of fun, high energy music and a family friendly evening with the Celebration Band, performing all your favorite sing-a-long tunes from the 70’s through today.

August 11 – Andrew Morris Band

A rising star on the Country Music scene, the Andrew Morris Band covers country classics, the latest hits, good-time southern and classic rock and original songs too. Sponsored by: MyFortLauderdaleBeach.com

August 18 – Big Harvest

Big Harvest brings a fresh and energizing new reggae sound and mix of Latin, Reggae, and Roots that is sure to make you feel irie. Presented by Modelo Especial

August 25 – Grace & The Victory Riders

Grace and The Victory Riders are an internationally known band, combining a message-driven, passion-fueled style of music with a global perspective.  Grace & the Victory Riders combine world flavors and rhythms with pop songwriting and a message of social consciousness. Grace is a singer-songwriter who has been influenced by her travels all over the world; she has lived in Africa, India, Jamaica, North America and Europe. Her journey eventually brought her to Paris, where she first gained a following. Her band played more than 150 concerts in
