As the official airline sponsor of Friday Night Sound Waves, Southwest® will host eight shows featuring the Southwest Lounge, a space for community partners and guests to gather together to enjoy the night’s performances. The Southwest Lounge will welcome guests with comfortable seating, beach umbrellas, beach mats to lay on the sand, and signature Southwest snacks to enjoy at each of the weekly events. At each Southwest sponsored show, concertgoers will also have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win round trip travel.
Come June, the airline best known for Low Fares and Bags Fly Free, will participate in the return of the Friday Night Sound Waves popular summer campaign, The Great Beach Getaway Giveaway. Southwest will help Sound Waves organizers host national fly-in contests through June and July, as well as opportunities for local residents to enter for a chance to win flights to new nonstop destinations from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, including Belize, Cancun, Grand Cayman, and Montego Bay.

Friday Night Sound Waves organizers received a sponsorship from FPL that made the special lighting requirements of this event possible. “We strive to support the communities that we serve to make Florida a better place to work, live and raise a family,” said Juliet Roulhac, regional manager, external affairs, FPL.
“Corporate and community partnerships are vital to the sustainability of the Friday Night Sound Waves as a free event for all to enjoy,” said series producer, Arianne Glassman. “With both the financial and in-kind support of our nearly two dozen partners, we are able to further invest in Fort Lauderdale Beach as a place for both our locals and visitors to enjoy.”
The Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District (BID), comprised of many of the businesses located along A1A, is the series’ major funding partner. In addition, the series second year sponsors include both new and returning sponsors including the Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB, the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, Visit Florida, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, It’s Better On the Beach Restaurant Group, Modelo Especial, Blue Chair Bay Rum, Bahia Mar Resort Fort Lauderdale Beach and Modera Port Royale.

Entercom Radio, the series official radio partner, will host weekly games and prizes represented by each of the national media outlet’s four South Florida stations, including The Beach 102.7 FM, The Shark 104.3 FM, Lite 101.5 FM, 790 AM The Ticket. The Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB will also broadcast live from The Hub on their new Sunny TV station, every first Friday between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Additional media partners and friends include Fort Lauderdale Magazine, TravelHost FTL, Water Taxi, Sun Trolley, Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, The Las Olas Association, The Central Beach Alliance and the Ford Lauderdale Air Show.
Friday Night Sound Waves is a free 36-week live music series that runs March through November.
