garlic festival

Garlic Heads get ready to regale, rejoice, refresh and renew at the 18th Annual Garlic Fest on Feb. 10 – 12, 2017.  The best stinkin’ party in South Florida has moved to larger festival grounds to accommodate the growing legion of garlic fans at John Prince Park in Lake Worth, Florida! That means you’ll find everything you have always loved about Garlic Fest but it will be bigger and better than ever before! Now, all you have to do is sit back, start stocking up on mints, and count down the days until South Florida Garlic Fest 2017.

Garlic Fest Main Stage entertainment kicks off on Friday, Feb. 10th at 6:00 pm and continues non-stop through Sunday, Feb. 12th.  This year, the Garlic Gods have been especially kind to the South Florida Garlic Fest bringing us the globally conscious music of Kongos on Friday night, Feb. 10th.  The brothers KONGOS — multi-cultural, multi-faceted, multi-instrumentalists — craft a unique and irresistible sound spawned from shared DNA, diverse influences and spot-on melodic and lyrical sensibilities. On Saturday night, Feb. 11th, Michael Franti & Spearhead storms the stage. “I make music because I believe it can change people’s lives and make a difference in the world,” enthuses Franti, “music gives us new energy and a stronger sense of purpose.”  Listen to Franti & Spearhead’s infectious beat in their huge hit – Hey You (I love you).

In addition to a long list of talented local acts rocking the Garlic Fest stage this year is Southern rock guitarist Joe Lasher Jr. and Texas bred singer songwriter Taylor Phelan!  Lasher’s live shows are becoming legendary throughout the Southeast! His new EP, “Jack to Jesus” just dropped.  Taylor starred in the 7th season of The Voice and recently released his debut album, “Where The Oceans Shallows”.

Our Internationally Award Winning Event brought home another nine awards in 2016, continuing the reputation of THE signature food and entertainment event in South Florida.  The Garlic Fest continues its focus on local community volunteers with a dedicated team of 20 non-profit organizations with 550 volunteers that run the show. The festivities include live national musical entertainment, artists & crafters, Garlic Chef cooking competitions, amusement rides and garlic-infused cuisine that permeates the air for miles.  The three-day event will be held Friday through Sunday, Feb. 10 – 12, 2017.   Festival hours are Friday: 5 PM-11 PM, Saturday: 11 AM-11 PM, Sunday: 11 AM-6 PM.

This unique event crosses all cultural boundaries and ages, providing something for everyone featuring;  National Act Musical Entertainment, the Cloves & Vines Wine Garden, full liquor bars, Garlic Chef Stadium, garlic-inspired gourmet food, over 200 unique vendors, children’s activities and amusement rides, and Home Depot Garlic University. Garlic Fest was started by a group of locals as a means to raise funds for local non-profit organizations dedicated to children’s arts and activities and it is still run by those same local organizations today! Last year, Garlic Fest topped $585,000 in charitable contributions to date for the 20 organizations and the 550 community volunteers they represent. The Garlic Fest is a gathering that renews communal spirit as it enriches the fabric of south Florida life.

The Garlic Fest draws international media attention including a featured spot on the Food Network’s “Unwrapped”.  The festival has won over 60 state and international awards, has been featured in over 40 national magazines, has had two network appearances and countless hours of local media coverage.
