Neighbors Night Out

The Margate Police Department is hosting its 17th Annual National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 1st beginning at 7 p.m. at the Margate Sports Complex, located on Banks Road between Copans Road and Coconut Creek Parkway. This award-winning event draws thousands of people who come out to learn more about the various services provided by the Margate Police Department and other law enforcement agencies.

National Night Out Against Crime is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships; and to send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime. The National Association of Town Watch selected the City of Margate as a National Award winner 2004 through 2012, 2014 and 2015.

Free hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, refreshments and carnival rides will be available for the kids. There will be plenty of photo opportunities for adults and children alike. Visitors can meet Ronald McDonald and fan favorite Billy the Marlin of the Florida Marlins, both of which will be taking photos and mingling with guests.

Enjoy music, entertainment and performances on the stage. Come meet and mingle with the men and women of federal, state and local law enforcement and the military personnel who defend our way of life. Parking is free! For further information, please call Neighborhood Policing at (954) 972-1232.
