fourth july events

If you’re looking for a place to celebrate independence day this Friday, July 4th, you’re in luck! We have scoured the websites of local municipalities with a focus on those who will be supporting and promoting live music in addition to the traditional fireworks shows.  Here is a summary of what we found:

City of Deerfield Beach: #1 on our list thanks to THREE stages of non-stop live entertainment at the beach starting at 12:30pm until the Fireworks show begins at 9pm.  A trolley will be providing shuttle service from  The Cove Shopping Center (1500 E. Hillsboro Blvd) and St. Ambrose Catholic Church (363 SE 12th Ave).  The list of bands and entertainers is so long, we had to create a separate page just for this event!

City of Davie: Activities will include live music beginning at 3:00p.m. on the ball fields at Pine Island Park located at 3801 S. Pine Island Road, Davie. Free family activities including bounce houses, rides, a climbing wall, arts and crafts, youth entertainment, swimming and games around the park all day along with Food Trucks with a variety of food available for sale. There will be live music featuring “33 Years” and “Classic Rock Therapy“. To celebrate our Country’s birthday, FREE cake will be available, while supplies last! The evening will be capped off with a fantastic patriotic fireworks show at 9:00p.m

City of Fort Lauderdale: Celebrate America’s 238th birthday at the Fort Lauderdale Beach 4th of July Spectacular! DJs, live music, face painting, games, contests, and more begin as 12:30PM and conclude with the Fireworks Show at 9PM.  Two live bands are on the schedule: Relyx classic Rock ‘n Roll at 4:30-5:45pm followed by The Long Run tribute to The Eagles from 6:15pm-9pm.

City of Hollywood: The Fabulons kick off festivities at 2pm while Reggae Band “Making Faces” preceed the fireworks at the Hollywood Beach Theatre from 7:30pm. The Hollywood Beach Theatre is located at 200 Johnson Street. Children’s fun and water games from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the oceanfront Charnow Park located at Garfield Street. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Harry Berry Park at Azalea Terrace and Surf Road will feature Tropical Sounds by Ploomie.  Due to heavy traffic and limited parking, spectators are encouraged to utilize the free shuttle buses departing from four downtown Hollywood locations from 4pm-11pm. If you park at the City Hall location, you’ll get 3D glasses to enjoy the show (while supplies last).

City of Margate: Live music, food trucks, bounce houses and a Chicken-Wing Cook-Off highlight festivities this year beginning at 5pm with Fireworks beginning at 9pm located on the North-West corner of Margate Blvd. and State Road 7.  The featured band will be Boombox from 5:30 till 8:30pm.  Omeara’s Irish Pub, located across the street, will join in the celebrations with Shovel-Head beginning at 8pm. If you are up early enough, you can also catch a parade at 9am starting at the west end of Margate blvd followed by a lunch-party at City Hall at 11:30am.

City of Pompano Beach: Pompano’s annual July 4th Beach Bash Extravaganza takes place along Pompano Beach Boulevard starting at noon.  Activities range from DJ, live music and dance, arts and crafts, antique car show, food trucks, science stations, glitter and airbrush tattoos, and more, culminating with fireworks off the pier at 9pm.

City of Sunrise:  Sunrise has organized festivities in two parts: First, a parade from 10am-1pm. This year’s theme is “Marching Through History”  Floats will wind their way west along Sunset Strip from NW 12th Street to City Park, where the fun continues with free food, rides and children’s entertainment. Local businesses and organizations are welcome to participate. The second part begins at 5pm at the BB&T center where families will find children’s rides and activities, along with an assortment of food and beverage vendors. The Jacob Jeffries Band will kick off the evening’s live music lineup, and Grammy Award-nominated alternative rockers The Spin Doctors (Two Princes, Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong, Jimmy Olsen’s Blues) will headline.  Fireworks will follow the concert.

City of Tamarac:  The All American Celebration takes place from 6pm to 9:30pm at the Tamarac Sports Complex located at 9901 NW 77 Street, Tamarac. A free outdoor concert by The Valerie Tyson Band promises to perform an energetic array of musical medleys.  There will also be an entertainment area with fun rides, arts & crafts, games to keep the children busy, and food trucks will be on site. A choreographed pyrotechnical fireworks display kicks off promptly at 9pm. Attendees are asked to use a shuttle bus from Tamarac City Hall (7525 NW 88th Ave) and Tamarac Community Center (8601 W. Commercial Blvd) due to limited parking on site.
