Amaize Opens Newest Restaurant in Davie on August 22

Amaize, a one-of-a-kind, flavorful, fast-casual Arepa eatery, will celebrate the opening of its second location on August 22 in Davie, located at 2258 S. University Drive in the Tower Shops. As part of the opening day celebrations, Amaize will host a ribbon cutting with local area dignitaries. The restaurant will also collect donations for Spirituality for Kids, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which develops free online spiritual programs for kids based on universal spiritual principles delivered via a curriculum of engaging videos, games and art activities. In addition, the first 100 guests will receive free coffee for a year and an Amaize coffee mug. Attendees who check in on Amaize’s Davie Facebook page, post a photo and use the hashtag #AmaizeYou will have the chance to win one of three vouchers for free Arepas for 30 days.

“Over the last year, we’ve experienced great success at our first location in Doral, so expanding into Broward County was a natural next step,” said Karen Armando Cohen, president and CEO of Amaize. “We know that the residents of Davie will love our Latin-inspired cuisine, and we encourage everyone to stop by on opening day for breakfast, lunch or dinner to create their own Arepa and join our grand opening celebration.”

Amaize ArepasAmaize is the first fast-casual Arepa concept in the U.S. As with the Doral location, the Davie Amaize will feature customized Arepas and cachapas where guests can “CYO” (Create your Own) Arepas using a variety of fresh gourmet and Latin inspired fillings including shredded beef, chicken and pork. Arepas, which have been enjoyed by Latin American cultures for hundreds of years, are grilled cornmeal “pockets” made of pre-cooked P.A.N., a unique product made out of pure corn, which is gluten-free. Cachapas are a yellow sweet corn version of a pancake that features a mix of freshly grinded maize kernels and yellow ‘P.A.N. Flour.’ Guests can also order mechados that are served with white rice, baked plantains, black beans and customized with your choice of any protein or grilled vegetables. The restaurant will create 50 new jobs in the area and will also feature a Mercadito (mini market) where guests can purchase items to create their own Arepa experience at home.

Guests can also choose from one of Amaize’s specialty Arepas including popular favorites such as:

  • Beauty Queen®– Created in honor of the 1955 Venezuelan Miss World Susana Duijm, this best-selling menu item features a special avocado chicken salad
