Introducing 'Yvad & The Reggae Renegades' To the World!!!
Jahfé is an international powerhouse pop-roots-rock-reggae band whose rising popularity and following is due to their take charge attitude and uncompromising conscious message. Representing the power of the youth and the wisdom of roots culture, the music of Jahfé not only reflects diversity but the true ability of conscious music to connect to people of all backgrounds. Now in their musical prime, Jahfé specializes in a hard-driving, dubbed-up hybrid of Rock and Reggae that, in its best moments, rise to a visceral frenzy that few reggae acts of any era could hope to match. The band is fronted by lead vocalist Esther Fortune, a ferocious whirlwind of power and energy, a raw dominant and commanding dynamo who is impossible to contain when she hits the stage. Together with Sasha Sanon (band leader, percussionist and also lead singer) and Lady D (a technically trained mezzo-soprano with a vocal range spanning more than three octaves) they produce euphonious harmonies and interweave over the expertly constructed reggae grooves skillfully; an audience has no choice but to submit and be mesmerized as they take in powerful messages of Unity and Livity. We're definitely NOT a cover band
Inna Sense is comprised of an all star line up and its members have worked with well known artists like Mikey Dread, Julian Lennon, Blues trveler, Inner Circle, Lutan Fyer, Maxi Priest, Marcia Griffiths and Kymani Marley to name just a few. Performances as a group and individually have included Reggae on the River, Glastonburg Festival in England, Montreal Reggae Fest, Reggae Sunsplash, many other tours all over Europe and the United States. Now, with the completion of their new release, the band is preparing for extensive touring to bring their music to the world.
Laid back, soaked in Florida sunshine and all twisted up in reggae-rock - this is Boca Raton’s own Fireside Prophets. Following the success of their debut EP Resinate, the dynamic three-piece group is back in the studio to prepare a full-length album for release in late 2014. Part chilled-out reggae, part slinky rock and all attitude, this is the next up and coming band to keep your eyes on.
While combining classic elements of reggae with hip hop rhythms and the crunchy attitude of 90s grunge, Fireside Prophets coined their own brand of “Dirty South Swamp Rock.” Ideal for fans of Slightly Stoopid, Authority Zero, The Expendables, Sublime or Rebelution, the group consistently pushes the limits while transporting the listener to the fun-loving, palm tree dotted warm shores of Florida.
Now a mainstay at area clubs and music venues, Fireside Prophets are consistently featured on FAU college radio while garnering airplay on Pandora and Jango. While continuing to ride the wave set off by the release of Resinate in late 2012, their upcoming debut LP sees the band pushing their unique blend of music to new heights as they continue to grow.
"Fireside Prophets craft catchy lyrics, worthy of being sung in the shower, that blend magically with their guitar riffs which rival the expert level on Guitar Hero and a drum beat that stitches everything together. But what’s especially impressive isn’t just their cool vibe and musical skill. It’s also their passion for music – something the industry can’t manufacture," said Michelle Ferrand of University Press - FAU.
Fireside Prophets was founded in 2008 at Florida Atlantic University by a trio of like-minded music fanatics; Justin “JD” D’Alfonso (guitar/lead vocals), Oren “OG” Gross (bass/piano/backing vocals) and Travis “T-Shmeet” Schmeider (drums/backing vocals). They have also appeared on a pair of BandCamp compilations; CompOWLation: Volume 1 and Homegrown: From The Sunshine State.
Resinate is available now from digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby, with streaming audio available on the band’s official Facebook, ReverbNation and BandCamp pages. Keep up with all the latest news including tour dates and album updates by following them on Facebook or Twitter and subscribing to their mailing list. Keep your eyes peeled for the Fireside Prophets debut LP later in 2014.

Jah Steve and the Counteract Crew are the latest Reggae phenomenon to hit the stages of South Florida. To paraphrase Reggae maestro Bob Marley, one good thing about the Counteract Crew is that when their music hits you, you feel no pain.
Counteract Crew band leader Steve McGowan, aka Jah Steve, has music in his blood and in his bones and the Miami native has been involved in the entertainment industry for most of his life. Steve started off in the music business around 1996 as a sound engineer setting up audio equipment for live stage events. He soon developed a life-long love for music as he became a regular and competent stage technician for the many Caribbean acts performing in South Florida.
A self-taught guitarist and musician, Jah Steve eventually joined Crisis, a local backing band that provided the opportunity for him to learn and play a wide variety of popular songs and rhythms. After this invaluable experience, Jah Steve became the band leader and bassist for 4th Dimension, a South Florida Reggae show band.
Over a fifteen year period, 4th Dimension became a staple at venues from Miami Beach to downtown Fort Lauderdale, to West Palm Beach. During that time Jah Steve also performed before thousands of fans at events like the Bob Marley Festival in Miami and at other major festivals and concerts nationwide across the U.S.
Today in 2015 Jah Steve is the front man for the Counteract Crew, a newly formed South Florida Reggae band specializing in Reggae music with an authentic “old school” feel. The Counteract Crew is comprised of band Music Director Bruno Ruiz (a.k.a “B-Roots”) on guitar; Bruno’s brother Frankie Ruiz on drums; keyboard genius Doron Clarence; and Jah Steve on bass guitar.
The Counteract Crew is filling the high demand and constant need in South Florida for quality live Reggae acts. Music lovers can catch these musical craftsmen performing live at venues around South Florida and fans should look out for their new recordings coming out in 2016.
