Blue Tuesdays Strike a Chord this March at Boston’s on the Beach

This March, add some good ol’ spice to your weeknight with home-cooked classics, cold suds, and plenty of mega-smooth blues during Blue Tuesdays at the award-winning beachfront hot spot Boston’s on the Beach. Blue Tuesdays also features great food and drink specials, including the boozy Nucklebuster Smash cocktail, Boston’s very own A1A IPA, juicy burgers, jumbo chicken wings, and its signature, double-fisted lobster rolls.

Hosted by “Famous” Frank Ward, Blue Tuesdays’ performances include:

Frank Bang
Frank Bang & The Cook County Kings

March 14: Frank Bang and The Cook County Kings – Born and raised in Chicago, front man Frank Bang credits his melodic success to the legendary Buddy Guy. “It was incredible jamming with Buddy every night for five years,” recalls Bang. “Touring every summer with B.B. King, seeing the world, and playing with your idols. It was an amazing experience.” The Cook County Kings feature Brian “BJ” Jones on drums, Andre Howard on bass guitar, Donnie Nichilo on piano, and Russ Green on the harmonica.

March 21: Captain Reese and Son of Man – Singer and bass player, Captain Reese’s blues renditions ooze vintage cool. His credits include playing live with members of such well-known acts as Sheryl Crow, Carlos Santana, Dizzy Gillespie, Bob Seger, Jeff Beck, and Muddy Waters, just to name a few. He’s joined onstage by “Famous” Frank Ward on guitar and vocals, and Son of Man, which features “One Night Stan” Waldman on saxophone, Tom Regis on keyboard, and John Yarling on drums.

Kat Riggins

March 28: Kat Riggins – “I thank God that my passion is my purpose, which is to help preserve this endangered species called ‘The Blues,’” says Kat Riggins, about her love for the genre. From an early age, Riggins was drawn to the smoky, gritty sounds of legendary female artists like Bessie Smith, Nina Simone, Etta James, and Koko Taylor. Born in Miami, Florida, Kat started singing jazz and blues standards in her early 20s, and went on to create a rich, lyrical style that melds blues, hip-hop, and pop with gospel and country. “I sing about raw emotion,” Kat says. “If I can move someone to feel what I feel, it’s all worth it.”
