In an effort to promote more outdoor dining and shopping, the City of Fort Lauderdale is has launched a Temporary Outdoor Business Expansion initiative. The program involves temporarily closing portions of roads in key areas to facilitate social distancing for pedestrians and business patrons and to expand access to outdoor spaces for seating, dining, and other business activities. Beginning Friday, May 22, NE 33 Street between A1A and NE 33 Avenue will be closed nightly from 4:30 p.m. through 7 a.m. This full closure includes the on-street parking spaces on NE 33 Street. Pedestrians should exercise caution and motorists should travel slowly through the area and follow posted detour signs.

Popular businesses for fans of live music on this stretch of 33rd Street include Fishtales, 33rd Street Wine Bar, and Blue Jean Blues. Also located on the west end of this block is Bokampers Sports Bar & Grill. Fishtales has committed to offering live music on their patio from 7-10pm every night of the weekend beginning May 22nd. Parking Options

Two Lanes of Las Olas Boulevard to Temporarily Close on Weekends
As part of the City’s Temporary Outdoor Business Expansion initiative, the north curb parking lane and the south curb parking lane on Las Olas Boulevard between SE 6 Avenue and SE 11 Avenue will be closed on weekends, beginning on Friday at 7 a.m. and continuing through Monday at 7 a.m. Pedestrians should exercise caution and motorists should travel slowly through the area. On-street parking is available on Las Olas Boulevard west of SE 6 Avenue and east of SE 11 Avenue as well as on surrounding streets.
