What is an open-mic?

An open-mic is shorthand for an available microphone for anyone that wants to perform.  Different venues offer various versions of this – everything from comedy and poetry to band jam sessions.  Weekend Broward will use this calendar for any venue which allows Comedy to be performed on an open-mic night.  If you are looking for a place to jam with a band, please refer to the Live Music Events Calendar.
