About The Charity

In 1981 the City of Deerfield Beach and the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Broward County partnered to develop the Northeast Focal Point Senior Center. In October 2017, name was changed to the Center for Active Aging. Over the last 38 years, the Center has greatly expanded and now operates and administers an Alzheimer’s Day Care Center, Senior Center, Adult Day Services Center, a Multicultural Adult Day Services program, and a Preschool.

The Center for Active Aging is funded through a combination of federal and state administered grants, fees for services and fundraisers. Additionally, the Center for Active Aging receives financial support from the Aging and Disability Resource Center, N.E. Focal Point CASA*, Inc. (Children’s, Alzheimer’s, Senior and Adult Services), and the City of Deerfield Beach.

Alzheimer’s Day Care –  The center offers specialized services and stimulating programs for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, frailties, and functional limitations. The Center offers transportation to and from the center, recreation
activities and programs for mental and physical stimulation, intergenerational programs, and health and wellness programs. A balanced lunch is provided, and snacks are offered daily. The center also provides caregiver respite and support for families who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease.

Center for Active Aging – The Center for Active Aging offers transportation to and from the center, grocery shopping and medical visits. Senior friendly activities include recreation and social activities, trips, holiday parties, exercise, along wit health and wellness programs. A balanced lunch is provided daily. A computer room, library, exercise room, garden and coffee shop are located on campus.

Preschool – The preschool provides quality programs that promote independence as well as social, physical and psychological well-being in a nurturing and playful environment. Themed lessons, enriched curriculum and breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided daily. We also provide families with support and parenting skills. Children ages 2-5 years.
