The 25th Annual Art & Music Fest in the Pines’ two-day art and music celebration is free to the public and will feature live music, food trucks, workshops at The Frank Art Gallery, a Student Art Competition, Kids’ Art & Game Zone, performances, live hands-on art demonstrations and much more! The 25th Annual Art & Music Fest in the Pines is taking place at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way, on Saturday, November 4 from 11AM to 8PM and Sunday, November 5, from 12PM to 5PM.

Art Competition

The City of Pembroke Pines invites all artists and crafters to apply to the 25th Annual Art & Music Fest in the Pines. Applications to the 25th Annual Art & Music Fest in the Pines are available through ZAPP at until October 25th, 2023. Interested parties are encouraged to apply via ZAPP searching “Art Fest Pines” or click here.

Cash prizes will be awarded for medium groupings and best in show with an opportunity to win upwards of $4,850.  Medium categories include Crafts, Drawing, Jewelry, Mixed media, Digital Art, Painting (watercolor, acrylic, oil) Fine Handcrafts, Photography, Wood, Glass and three Dimensional Sculpture. In addition to the individual medium, “Best In” categories a “Best in Show” winner will also be selected. Participating artists have the opportunity to win upwards of $4,850 in cash prizes. As an added bonus, the winners will be automatically invited to participate in next year’s festival with no jury required.

Saturday, November 4th

12:30 pm- Interactive belly dancing performance by the Arabian Roses

3:00-5:00 pm – Bombshell (Rock and Pop Cover band)

6:00 -8:00 pm – Smokin’ Renegade: Tributes to Boston and Styx

Sunday, November 5th

12:00-2:00 pm – Resonance (high-energy party band)

3:00-5:00 pm – Bobby Nathan’s Rock and Soul Review featuring vocals of Betty Padgett


Kid Zone & Workshops for Kids

The Kid’s Art and Game Zone will feature arts and crafts projects for kids by Pines Art Center’s teachers, face painting (Saturday 2 – 4 pm) and balloon twisting (Sunday 2-4 pm) by Ooopsy Entertainment, and there will be a life-size coloring mural. The Color Bubble will also be onsite Saturday from 11 am – 3 pm with their mobile art studio to create paintings, slime, and sand art.

The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery will be offering family friendly artist-led workshops for kids throughout the weekend. Everyone is invited to join environmental artist Melanie Oliva on Saturday, November 4 (12 pm, 1 pm or 3 pm). In recognition of Manatee Awareness Month, she will lead participants through decorating a wooden manage in the style of famous artists like Piet Mondrian, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama, etc. A workshop with Mixed Media Artist Lifrancis Rojas will be held on Sunday, November 5 (1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm), where she will instruct participants in creating abstract paintings using mixed media. Pre-registration at The Frank front desk during Art & Music Fest is required before each workshop session.
