With good cheer and holiday spirit, the City of Coral Springs will transform Downtown Coral Springs into a winter wonderland with interactive light displays funded by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), a series of festive events, and community activities as part of the Downtown in December holiday experience.
In a reimagined format, residents and the surrounding community will have a flurry of opportunities to celebrate the holiday season, support local businesses, snap festive photos, and create lasting memories. Holiday events and activities include Light Up the Lawn, Holiday Market, and the annual Holiday Parade.
Light Up the Lawn (December 2 • 5 to 7 p.m.)
Selfie time! Large-scale, festive holiday light displays will adorn the City Hall Lawn (9500 W Sample Road) where residents and the surrounding community can visit, interact, and take photos throughout December. The City Commission will light the City Hall Christmas tree aglow while residents enjoy holiday cookies, periodic snow flurries, roaming entertainment, snack vendors, and trackless train rides. Please note: Train rides are available for residents only, and pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Registration for train rides will open on Monday, November 27 at 12 p.m.
Holiday Market (December 9 • 5 to 7 p.m.)
Shop local and shop small! The community is invited to support local businesses for the holidays as part of the downtown Holiday Market at the City Hall Lawn. The event will feature more than 20 local vendors selling various gifts and goods to suit all holiday shopping lists. The event will also feature roaming entertainment, cookies, and opportunities to mail letters to Santa.
Holiday Parade (December 13 • 7 p.m.)
The annual Holiday Parade will take place along Sample Road. This year’s theme, Magical Memories: A Ride Down Memory Lane, aims to evoke fond memories of holidays past and present with uniquely designed floats from local organizations. Residents and the surrounding community are invited to attend and cheer on the local schools and organizations who participate. Per Coral Springs tradition, Santa and Mrs. Claus will ride down Sample Road in a fire truck to close out the parade. Just before the annual Holiday Parade, runners of all ages and abilities can participate in the Coral Springs Holiday Mile Run along the parade route. Holiday attire is encouraged!
