Fort Lauderdale Pirate Festival [Postponed]

Pirate Festival

Shiver me timbers and decorate your boats. The Third Annual Pirate Festival sails into Esplanade Park on the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale on April 11th, 2020.   Presented by The Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale in partnership with Bobby Rodriguez, producer of the world-renowned Florida Renaissance Festival, along with The City of Fort Lauderdale, Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, and Yellow Cab of Broward County, the festival takes place April 11, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Batten down the hatches, decorate your boats and crew, come by land or by sea, and prepare to have all hands on deck for a great time at a wonderful family spring festival!

Update from event organizer: In the best interest of our community, vendors, volunteers, and since the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale has prohibited all events with over 250 people in attendance through April 12, 2020, The Pirate Festival will be postponed. As soon as a new date has been decided, we will let you know.

This extraordinary one-day free event will feature a flotilla of boats which their owners and captains will decorate with a Pirate Theme. The boats and crews will be judged for the best Pirate Themed Boat, the best Pirate Costumed Crew, and the crew with the best Pirate Spirit. The winner of the best Pirate Themed boat will receive a trophy cup and free admission into the 49th Annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade which will be held on December 12, 2020. In addition to the Decorated Boats and Costumed Crews, there will be plenty of Live Entertainment, Pirate Encampments, Beer and Spirits Garden, Children’s Treasure Hunt, Children’s Area, Food Vendors, Arts & Crafts Vendors, Pirate Merchandise, and LIVE Canon Demonstrations.

The Children’s Area includes a climb aboard Pirate Ship, Blackbeard Pirate Shows, Pirate Face Painting, Pirate Ship Bounce & Slide, Climbing Wall, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Games and fun for all ages.

There will be plenty of contests including best dressed pirates of all ages. There will be a free treasure hunt for the first 250 children to register, age 10 and younger, and they will receive prizes from our sponsors and vendors.
