What better a way to wind down the week and the hustle and bustle of year-end activities and the holidays than with the City of Pembroke Pines Jazz in the Pines Concert Series. Sunday, December 16, 2018, the public is invited to a free outdoor concert featuring “Mojito Groove”, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way. This band prides itself with being a Classic Latin Salsa and Latin Jazz Fusion Ensemble. They blend the musical genres of Afro-Cuban, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Peru, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico and the U.S.
The City of Pembroke Pines Art and Cultural Division has also incorporated a new component to the Jazz concerts by adding Live Painting Artists that will complement the featured band. On December 16, artist Lifrancis Rojas will also be on hand from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The next concert will take place on Sunday, January 27, 2019 and feature Cachi & his Salsa Jazz Ensemble, described as a Latin Jazz Band with a Salsa Twist.
The family-friendly Jazz in the Pines concert series includes nine concerts every year, once a month on Sunday afternoons, weather permitting. Those who attend are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for seating.
Enjoyed by hundreds, these concerts are a great break from busy schedules, and give people a chance to listen to the soothing sound of Jazz outdoors. For more information, please call 954-392-2116 or visit www.ppines.com.
