Surf N’ Sounds on the Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale

Break out your board shorts and get ready to hang ten at the first annual Riverwalk Surf N Sounds on Saturday, September 25th from 12pm to 4pm at Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale. This celebration of all things H2O features a diverse array of local vendors, great food and live music by Tasty Vibrations and DJ Rokwell.   Jive-thru an array of diverse local vendors, delicious food and drinks options or hang out in an exclusive VIP area. Admission is FREE.
While South Florida is known for its sandy beaches, great restaurants, numerous cultural attractions and a vibrant nightlife, most people are unaware it is also home to a large surfing community. Local surfers can be found just offshore near the Commercial Pier, Hillsboro Inlet, the Pompano Beach Pier and several other areas. This tight knit group of wave riders also travel throughout to state to find the best swells especially if a storm is offshore – a different kind of storm chaser!
“We never knew Fort Lauderdale was home to many surfers,” says Genia Duncan Ellis, President/CEO of Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale. “Riverwalk strives to provide activities and events for our diverse population and we realized we have never recognized our surfing community so Surf N Sounds was born.”
Since this event celebrates all things H2O, a wide array of vendors will be on hand including the new Paddle Pub, paddleboard, clothing and other retailers as well as food vendors to keep attendees properly fed and hydrated while they hang loose listening to some great music. In addition, BC Surf & Sport will raffle off a paddleboard rental for two and a $75 gift card. The Surfboard Broker will also raffle off a surfboard in addition to having over 100 surfboards on site for sale.
