A world record attempt to benefit a local charity will take place Saturday, July 24th from noon until 8 p.m. at Huizenga Park on the Riverwalk in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Sangria Saturday, a family-friendly outdoor festival, will attempt to break the record for the world’s largest sangria tasting party and raise money for Good Karma Pet Rescue. Three different Spanish sangrias will be served alongside non-stop live entertainment ranging from teen rock bands to a Latin original music and favorites. Attendees will also be invited to visit the Pet Promenade (pet products and services), and savor foods from local vendors. Good Karma Pet Rescue will also be selling raffle tickets for prizes donated by local businesses.

According to the event organizers, “We wanted to do something unique and exciting to benefit homeless animals. We have long been supporters of Good Karma and believe in their mission to provide quality foster homes to needy dogs and cats.”

Good Karma Pet Rescue of South Florida is a non-profit 501c (3) organization dedicated to providing quality and loving care for pets in South Florida. Good Karma was started in 2011. Its goal is to be a rescue that aims for high quality care rather than high volume. Advance tickets are $20 per adult and include two glasses of red, white or rosé sangria.
Children and dogs are welcome at the event. Kids 12 and under are free. Fun activities will be featured – including police K9 and pet training presentations.
