Genre-bending band Whiskey Myers have played more than 3,000 live shows to ever-increasing crowd sizes since their emergence in 2007. A Taste of Jazz

  • July 14, Mark Marineau/piano, George Mazzeo/drums, Alex Hernandez, bass and Scott Klarman, sax will be playing “A look at Piano/Sax teams in Jazz”.
  • August 11, Martin Hand and his musicians perform some of Martin’s favorite guitar and piano pairings. Martin will play some of his favorite jazz and educate the audience about the music of several renowned jazz musicians of different genres of jazz including Joe Pass, guitar with Oscar Peterson, piano; Lee Ritenour, guitar and Dave Grusin, piano; Larry Carlton, guitar with Joe Sample, piano; Earl Klugh, guitar with Bob James, piano; and Oscar Moore, guitar with Nat King Cole, piano.

A Taste of Jazz at Bailey Contemporary Arts features entertaining and educational encounters with the musical genre, accompanied by wine tastings. Join Martin Hand and the Gold Coast Jazz Quartet as they explore the origins of the music of jazz, how it moved throughout America and became the music it is today Jazz is the original music of America and is the basis for the popular music of the past and today. The Gold Coast Jazz Society has been a major presenter of jazz concerts, jazz education and jazz outreach programs in Broward County since 1992. They have maintained and preserved the heritage of jazz by presenting the music celebrating jazz’s evolution over the past 100 years.
